  • Extruded Aluminum Cold Plates:Scalable, Cost-Effective Liquid Cooling

As power densities rise across industrial electronics, renewable energy systems, battery modules, and telecommunications, traditional air cooling often hits a thermal wall. Liquid cooling has become essential for high-heat applications, but not every design requires complex, multi-layer vacuum-b...

  • High-Performance Thermal Management for LED & Laser Equipment: Why Skived Fin Heat Sinks Win

Optical and optoelectronic systems—such as high-power industrial LEDs, medical laser diodes, and precision photonics—present some of the most aggressive thermal challenges in modern electronic design. Unlike traditional CPUs that can dynamically throttle clock speeds when overheating, optical co...

  • Mastering Extruded Aluminum Heat Sink Design: Balancing Geometry, Airflow, and Manufacturability

Designing an efficient extruded aluminum heat sink requires balancing thermal performance, airflow dynamics, weight, and manufacturing feasibility. While it is tempting to simply increase fin height or density to maximize surface area, a successful thermal design requires a holistic approach. Ev...

  • What Is a Heat Sink? The Guide to Heat Sink Manufacturing Processes

A heat sink is a passive thermal management component designed to transfer heat away from a high-temperature device into the surrounding cooling medium (typically air or liquid). Heat moves from the active component into the heat sink base, spreads into the integrated fins, and dissipates into...

  • Copper vs. Aluminum Skived Fin Heat Sinks: The Engineering & Purchasing Guide

In the world of high-power electronics, finding the sweet spot between thermal performance, manufacturing cost, and system weight is a constant challenge. When standard extruded heat sinks cannot handle high heat fluxes, engineers often turn to skived fin heat sinks. Because skived fins are sli...
